Viewing Event Log
To view an event log, choose
System | System Information | Event Log
. The
Event Log window appears:
You can save the log to another file and clear the log. The event log holds one
megabyte of data. When it is full, new events are written over the oldest events.
Fields in the event log are described in this table:
Field
Description
Event ID
A sequential number assigned by the system as events are logged.
Time/Date
Date and time at which the event occurred.
Node
The address of the appliance.
Software Module
The software module in which the event message was generated. (For use
by development engineers.)
Code Address
Within the above software module, this is the address at which the event
message was generated. (For use by development engineers.)
Severity Level
The severity level of an event can be Info, OK, Warning, or Critical.
Warning and Critical events indicate system problems. Info and OK
events are included in the log to provide context for the serious events.
Description
This describes the logged event.
