You named the local domain and entered IP addresses as part of Setup. To
change names and IPs, choose
Network | Names/IPs
. The Names and IPs
window appears:
Review or change the following:
• A domain name is a unit with common rules and procedures. All devices on
the network that share a common part of the IP address are part of this
domain. The default is Default.Domain.
• The gateway is a machine on the network that routes traffic from one
physical network to another. You can use a gateway used by another
computer in the network. The default gateway address is 0.0.0.0 (no
gateway).
• You cannot change the netmask. The netmask is used to filter messages into
a particular network segment. It is stored in the appliance server node and is
matched to each incoming IP address to determine whether to accept or
reject the message packet. The preset netmask is 255.255.0.0.
• The node name.
• The Public IP address. Clients use this address to access the file systems on
the node. The similarity in octets depends on the class IP address being used.
In the Names and IPs window above, the appliance is using a Class B IP
address. In this case, the first two octets are the same because the machine is
