Configuring Network Ports
To configure a network port, choose
Network | Network Ports
. The Network
Port Configuration window appears:
Review or change the following:
• Click the check box to
Enable Jumbo Frames
(or to disable them when
already enabled). Using standard frames, the packets sent through the
network are 1.5K. Using jumbo frames, the packets sent through the network
are 9K. Jumbo frames improve performance, but they must be supported by
your network to work properly.
• Enter a new address for Port 0. Port 0 is the external or data port. The Public
IP address is the address of the server node on the network. For more
information on valid IP addresses, refer to “Entering IP Addresses” on page
105.
• For port 0, enter a netmask.
After entering changes, click
Save
. You are asked if you want to reboot
immediately or wait until later.
NOTE: Enabling jumbo frames or changing the netmask will not
take effect until the appliance node is rebooted. Stop all I/O activities.
Reboot the appliance; wait for the browser to be redirected to the new
IP after you save the configuration.
