Configuring the System
Preparing a Network to Recognize NewsShare NAS
From any network machine, enable your network to recognize NewsShare NAS
by adding an IP address to the network within the subnet range of 192.168.50.0.
Opening NewsShare NAS Software
1. From a PC or workstation on the network, open NewsShare NAS software
in a Web browser (such as Netscape, Internet Explorer, or Mozilla) by
entering the following IP address in the browser address bar:
https://192.168.50.20:9890
Notice the s in the https: address. Make sure your browser allows cookies
and Java Script (or JIT). (For more information, refer to “Browser Settings”
on page 104.)
2. Read and agree to the license agreement.
3. Enter the password, which is the NewsShare NAS appliance serial number.
(You will change the password in a subsequent window.) The appliance
serial number appears at the top of the frame:
NewsShare NAS software opens and defaults to the setup window. Click
Setup . The Configure Network Ports window appears.
NOTE: At any time during Setup, click on the Back icon to review or
change prior windows. Configuration is not complete until you save
and reboot.
