The following SNMP Manager and Trap Manager Configuration parameters can be set:
♦
SNMP Community String
The community string that will be included on SNMP packets sent to and from the
switch. Any station not privy to this community will not receive the packet.
♦
Access Right
Allows each community to be separately set to either Read Only, meaning that the community
member can only view switch settings or Read/Write, which allows the member to change settings in the switch.
♦
Status
Determines whether this community name entry is Valid or Invalid. An entry can be disabled by changing
its status to Invalid.
♦
IP Address
The IP address of the network management station to receive traps.
Switch Monitoring
The Switch uses an SNMP agent which monitors different aspects of network traffic. The SNMP agent keeps counters and
statistics on the operation of the Switch itself, and on each port on the Switch. The statistics obtained can be used to
monitor the conditions and general efficiency of the Switch.
Network Monitoring
The Network Monitoring menu offers six items, Traffic Statistics, Browse Address Table, Browse IGMP
Status
, Browse GVRP Status, Browse GMRP Status, and Switch History.
