4. If a Lantronix serial server is being used, click on Use Default. Otherwise, enter the
socket number in the corresponding box.
5. Click on [ OK ] to save the new network and close the Network Configuration dialog box.
4.2 Editing an Existing Network
To modify the settings of an existing network, either right-click on a network name at the left side of
the screen, and then click on Edit… on the popup menu, or activate the Edit pull-down menu and
select Edit, and then Network. The Network Configuration dialog box appears. Edit the information
as needed.
4.3 Deleting a Network
To remove a network, right-click on a network
name at the left side of the screen, and then
click on Delete on the popup menu. A dialog
box appears requesting a confirmation of the
deletion.
Click on [
OK ] to delete the network or
[ CANCEL ] to leave the network intact.

Note: Performing this action can leave
displays unusable.
4.4 Remote Database
For locations that have multiple computers with Venus 1500 capability a remote database can be
configured for storing messages. This allows messages to be shared between machines without
needing to copy them from one machine to another.
1. Select Venus 1500 Administrator from the Venus 1500 shell
2. Click on the [Edit] drop down menu and select Database.
3. Select the Remote Database location by clicking on the browse button.
4. Browse to the new database location and click OK to select it.
5. Click on OK to close the Remote Database dialog. You will be prompted to move the contents
of the local database to the remote location.
Note: This is simply a sharing function and does not synchronize computers or displays in any
way. Any existing messages with the same names will be overwritten. It is best to perform
this configuration immediately before configuring your displays and messages are
created.
