When creating a new or opening an existing message/schedule, a small box will be visible to the left
of each display type. When the box is filled with a “+”, libraries exist for that type that are not
currently visible.
1. Click on the “+” or double-click on the display type name to expand the directory and view
that type’s libraries. The “+” will change to a “
-”.
2. Click on the name of the desired library to access the list of messages or schedules located
within it.

Note: The Venus 1500 Shell program defaults to “Always on Top,” placing it on top of any other
programs that may be displayed on the desktop. To turn this feature off:
1. Right-click on the shell’s Venus 1500 logo. A popup menu appears. Always on Top should
have a check mark next to it.
2. Click on Always on Top to remove the check mark.
1.7 Basic Steps to Using the Venus 1500 Controller Software
This manual is laid out in basic chronological order to create and display a message. In summary, the
steps you will need to follow are:
1. Install the Venus 1500 controller software if it is not already installed on your computer
(Section 2).
2. Configure the display type(s) and communication method (Sections 3 and 4).
3. Create the message(s) (Section 5).
4. Create the schedule(s), when desired (Section 6).
5. Send the message/schedule to the display (Section 7).
6. Run the message/schedule (Section 7).
This book will walk you through the steps necessary to help you use your display system to its full
potential.
