ii. For the side-by-side model the bottom hooks are used for the inside set of straps

(closest to the other mat), and the top hooks are used for the outer set of straps.

4. Raising Mat Hoist

a. When mats are hooked up to load bar, raise unit using the key switch just enough so that the

load swings free of floor.

b. Inspect the area and make sure everything is clear before lifting higher. Make sure all strap

rings are fully seated on the load bar hooks. Important! Do not continue lifting without a
complete inspection of the entire system and surrounding area.

Warning! Do not allow the load to swing either during the lifting operation or when the mat is
in a suspended position. Immediately lower to the floor if unit becomes unstable or begins to
swing. Mat hoist equipment damage and possible damage to portions of the building can result
if the unit is intentionally swung while it is being lifted or in a suspended position.

Warning! Never allow anyone to ride on mat while it is being lifted. Personal injury or death
may result.

c. During the lifting operation an operating beeper will sound. This is to alert everyone in the area

to stay clear of the unit while it is being raised.

d. Stow the winch at the top of its travel. Winches will stop automatically when the load bar

reaches its preset ‘ceiling’.

5. Lowering Mat Hoist

a. Lower load bar to a point where it is easy to unhook straps from hooks and allow mats to be

rolled free. Unhook first one side of the straps, and then roll mats out of the way. Sling may
then be completely removed or left hanging from the hooks in a storage position. In the case of
a double mat hoist model, this will have to be done in two steps to first unload the bottom mat,
then the upper one.

b. After unloading mats, continue operating the key switch in the downward direction until both

winches stop automatically. This will allow the program counter to reset itself. Unit can then be
