15. Clearing a System Fault

a. Occasionally the system may experience a critical failure of some component that will result in

an unsafe situation if not corrected. As a safety feature, the control box program is equipped
with fault mode detection and a ‘latched out’ alarm mode. In the event a fault is detected, the
red light on the control box door will be lit and the operating counters will be zeroed out. Unit
will require a reset and steps 12 and 13 above will have to be repeated. Make sure all
equipment has not been damaged before operating system again. The fault light will normally
be lit while the unit is in manual motor mode (MANMS).

b. To clear the fault, go to the main menu of the controller as shown above. Activate the ‘alarm

reset’ mode by pressing the ENT button and then the arrow keys to display a 3. Simply entering
this mode will clear the fault from the system and allow further programming or
troubleshooting.

c. Go through setup procedures 12 and 13 above to reset the program counter and upper limits.

Important: It is critically important to understand the cause for the system fault before
proceeding with system startup. Do not proceed unless the system has been deemed completely
safe.
