General Notes
• All components of the mat hoist system have been fully tested at the factory to insure they are in
proper working order. If for some reason the system does not work as expected after the
installation has been completed, please review all steps in the procedure as well as the
troubleshooting guide. If for some reason the system is still not functioning properly, you may call
Jaypro directly at 1-800-243-0533.
• Only authorized and properly trained personnel should operate the mat hoist. Operation of the hoist
should only be done while in clear view of the surrounding area. Always keep a copy of these
operating instructions handy for anyone using the system. Jaypro recommends a policy of training
and ‘signing off’ on instructions for anyone who will be tasked with operating the system.
• It is the ultimate responsibility of the person operating the hoist system to insure that the unit does
not become severely out of level. If for any reason the load bar should exceed a 6” difference in
elevation from one end to the other, STOP OPERATING IMMEDIATELY! Do not operate the
system again until the problem has been diagnosed and repaired.
• Before operating hoist system make sure all personnel are clear from the area. Unit is equipped
with an operating beeper that will sound an audible alarm every time the unit is raised or lowered.
• Mat hoist is capable of holding one (1) 45’x45’ rolled mat for the single hoist, and two (2) 45’x45’
mats for the double hoist system. Mats should be rolled evenly and stored as shown in images
below within the supplied sling. Inspect straps regularly and order replacements at the first sign of
wear.
• Key switch has a two (2) second timer. Turn and hold the key in the desired direction for at least
two seconds. Unit will begin operating in the intended direction after the two seconds has elapsed.
• If for any reason the controller detects an unsafe situation through either electrical fault or
mechanical limitation of operation, the unit may be ‘latched out’ electronically, which will require
on site technical servicing. This will be evident by the fact that you won’t be able to operate the
unit in either Setup or Run mode. This will also be indicated by the lit red light on the outside of
the enclosure. The key switch will remain ‘latched out’ and prevent operation in either Run or
Setup modes until fault has been cleared and the system has been reinitialized. Entire setup
procedure will have to be followed for setting the upper ‘soft’ limits before normal operation may
resume. You may still be able to operate in MANMS mode, as long as you have verified that the
unit is safe to operate. Jaypro is not responsible for any damage or injuries sustained during unit
operation.
• Inspect cables and pulleys regularly. Order replacements at the first sign of frayed cable segments
or any wear of metal parts.
• Listen for unusual sounds from hoist motors while units are being operated. Hoists are somewhat
loud normally, but if the noise they make should change over the period of their life then they
should be inspected closely.
• Call Jaypro for pricing and scheduling of a field maintenance visit from one of our highly trained
specialists if you are unwilling or unable to perform the regular maintenance yourself. Jaypro
recommends that the SecureLift system be thoroughly inspected at least every two years by a
trained specialist. Call Jaypro or your dealer to arrange for servicing.
