10. Interface Description
The
haze-gloss is equipped with a
serial interface (RS 232 C), which
allows for data handling and control of
the unit with a PC.
A 9-pin SUB-D connector is mounted
on the measuring unit for transfer
purposes.

Transfer Rate and Format
The serial asynchronous transfer of
data is specified in the measuring unit
and is performed according to the
following format:
2400 baud, 8 data bits, no parity,
1 stop bit
Control Commands
'O' (ASCII) starts the on-line operation
(ONLINE appears on the display)
- the haze-gloss keyboard is blocked
- automatic measurement is started
using the operating switch
SET UP Status of haze-gloss is
transferred to the computer:
(1 byte each INTEGER)
- Current Mode:
0 = sample mode
1 = statistic mode
- Selected Geometry:
0 = haze
1 = 20
°
2 = 60
°
3 = 85
°
5 = 20
° & 60°
6 = auto-range
7 = 60
° & 85°
- Current Downward Movement:
0 = lower 4 cm
1 = lower 7 cm
- Target Illumination:
0 = off
1 = on
- Decimal Point:
0 = display without decimal point
1 = display with decimal point
