Counterpart User Manual
2.0
Installation
Counterpart
is available in different configurations from just the indicator display to the display and counting
scale combined together as a unit. This section contains instructions on unpacking and assembly, leveling,
making power connections, load cell wiring, wiring standard serial port, optional network communications,
wiring optional digital outputs, optional backup battery operation, and power-up sequence. Assembly drawings
and replacement parts lists are also included.
Do not pick up the counting scale by the “spider” assembly, which supports the platter. Lifting by the
spider may damage the load cell. Lift the scale from under the base to move it.
2.1
Unpacking
The
Counterpart
comes with the following components (if purchasing scale and indicator):
•
AC adapter
•
Weighing platform
•
This manual
•
Indicator head
•
Bracket kit
Store the packing material and box in a safe, easily accessible place. Should you ever need to transport
the scale across any substantial distance, using the original packing material is the first step in
protecting your investment.
1. Immediately after unpacking the scale, visually inspect the
Counterpart
to ensure all components are
included and undamaged. If any parts were damaged in shipment, notify Rice Lake Weighing Systems
and the shipper immediately.
Do not turn the scale upside down. Always work with the scale on its side. Damage to the load cell
can occur if the scale is turned upside down.
2. Set up the scale on a stable, level surface.
