multicast (interface)

This command configures the port based multicast handling. The command defines the
handling for port specific unregistered multicast addresses. The default handling in
FASTPATH is that such packets are flooded (argument ‘default’). The user can change
the behaviour that such packets are dropped (argument ‘none’). The flooding mode is
set per port. It can be applied to either individual physical ports or to a port-channel.

This command displays the port based multicast handling. The commands displays for
a specified interface or all interfaces the multicast flooding settings. The displayed
fields are

the interface

the multicast flooding, indicating whether a packet with unregistered multicast
address should be flooded or not (yes/no).

multicast (VLAN)

This command configures the VLAN based multicast handling. The command defines
the handling for VLAN based unregistered multicast addresses. The default handling in
FASTPATH is that such packets are flooded (argument ‘default’). The user can change
the behaviour that such packets are dropped (argument ‘none’). The flooding mode is
set per VLAN, the VLAN ID range is 1-4094. If a created VLAN is deleted again, the
flooding mode is reset to default.

show vlan multicast

This command displays the VLAN based multicast handling. The command displays
for a specified VLAN ID (range is 1-4094) or all created VLANs (inclusive default
VLAN) the multicast flooding settings. The displayed fields are

the VLAN Identifier (VID) associated with each VLAN

the VLAN type (default, static or dynamic)

the multicast flooding, indicating whether a packet with unregistered multicast
address should be flooded or not (yes/no).

Format

show vlan multicast <1-4094>

show vlan multicast all
