Quick-Fill Fertilizer Loading
If loading via tank top hatch, see “Hatch Fertilizer
Loading” (right column).
Refer to Figure 45 on page 56
10. Set the quick-fill shutoff valve
) to closed (10a):
a. Handle 90
° to valve: Closed: no inlet flow
b. Handle in-line with valve: Open: Fill or drain tank
11. Set the tank discharge valve
a. Handle in-line with valve: Closed: no flow
b. Handle 90
° to valve: Open
This prevents sedimentation in the line, if the
material will not be immediately applied.
The strainer inlet valve
is normally left open, and
closed only for strainer servicing.
12. Connect fertilizer supply to Quick-Fill inlet
13. Open supply valve (if any) and check for leaks.
14. Alert observer to monitor tank fill level.
Note: Although the lid is commonly removed to monitor
fill level, it is not necessary to remove it for filling.
The lid is vented, preventing back-pressure at
normal fill and application rates.
15. Start source pump (if any).
16. Open Quick-Fill inlet valve
17. When tank reaches desired fill level,
stop source pump (if any),
close source valve (if any) and
close inlet shut-off
18. Disconnect supply line at Quick-Fill.
19. Close the tank lid if removed.
Fertilizer loading is complete.

Hatch Fertilizer Loading
If loading materials via Quick-Fill, see “Quick-Fill
Fertilizer Loading” instructions (left column).

12. Remove lid on tank, or center section of lid to load.
13. Route supply line into tank.
14. Commence fertilizer flow.
15. When tank reaches desired fill level,
stop source supply.
16. Close any tank lid removed.
Fertilizer loading is complete.
