If you already have RSLinx Enterprise version 5.00.00 or later installed on your computer, the
installation program skips to step 18. RSLinx Enterprise is required for your FactoryTalk
AssetCentre system to communicate with PanelView Plus operator interfaces.
11. Click Install RSLinx Enterprise on the Welcome to FactoryTalk Services window.
12. Click Install RSLinx Enterprise on the Install RSLinx Enterprise window.
13. Follow the on-screen instructions.
14. In the Setup Type page of the installation wizard, select Standard Feature Set
Installation, and then click Next.
15. Continue following the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
16. On the InstallShield Wizard Completed window, click Finish.
17. Click Exit on the RSLinx Enterprise installation menu.
18. If you have FactoryTalk Services Platform and you have already checked for
and installed FactoryTalk Services Platform patches
check and install FactoryTalk Services Platform and FactoryTalk View patches” on
page 14), click Finish and skip to step 20.
If you have FactoryTalk Services Platform and you have NOT already
installed patches
, do so now according to the instructions on the FactoryTalk
Services Platform Patch Installation window.
a. A command prompt window opens while each patch is being installed. When
processing in the command prompt completes, ignore the message to reboot your
computer and close the command prompt window.
b. Install the next patch, closing the command prompt window when that patch is
finished.
c. When the last patch has been installed, close the last command prompt and click
Finish on the FactoryTalk Services Platform Patch Installation window. A
message informs you that the system will restart. Click OK.
d. Once the computer has restarted, the Install FactoryTalk AssetCentre Client
window will be displayed. Click Start to proceed with the installation.
19. The FactoryTalk Services Platform Patch Installation window reappears. Click Finish.
Respond to the FactoryTalk Directory Server Configuration window, explained in step 20,
with care. Correctly identifying the FactoryTalk Directory is essential to a properly functioning
system.
