Configuring the Option Module

Using the PowerFlex 20-HIM-
A6 or 20-HIM-C6S HIM to
Access Parameters

If your drive has an enhanced PowerFlex 20-HIM-A6 or 20-HIM-C6S HIM, it
can be used to access parameters in the option module.

1.

Display the Status screen, which is shown on HIM powerup.

2.

Use the

or

key to scroll to the Port in which the option

module is installed.

3.

Press the PAR#

soft key to display the Jump to Param # entry pop-up box.

4.

Use the numeric keys to enter the desired parameter number, or use the

or

soft key to scroll to the desired parameter number.

Setting the Node Address

When the option module Data Rate switch (

Figure 2

) is set to position ‘3’

(Program), the value of

Device Parameter 07 - [Net Addr Cfg] determines the

node address. When the Data Rate switch is set to any other position, the Node
Address switch settings determine the node address.

1.

Set the value of

Device Parameter 07 - [Net Addr Cfg] to a unique node

address.

2.

Reset the option module; see

Resetting the Option Module on page 32

.

The NET A status indicator will be steady green or flashing green if the
node address is correctly configured, and the option module is connected
to an operational network.

TIP

We recommend that you do not use node address 63 because all new devices
on the network use this address as the default address. Also, node address 63 is
used for Automatic Device Recovery (ADR).
