BMD00220, October 2010

OSPFv3 Limitations

BLADEOS 6.5 does not currently support the following OSPFv3 features:

Multiple instances of OSPFv3 on one IPv6 link.

Authentication via IPv6 Security (IPsec)

OSPFv3 Configuration Example

The following example depicts the OSPFv3 equivalent configuration of

“Example 3: Summarizing

Routes” on page 295

for OSPFv2.

In this example, one summary route from area 1 (stub area) is injected into area 0 (the backbone).
The summary route consists of all IP addresses from the 36::0/32 portion of the 36::0/56 network,
except for the routes in the 36::0/8 range.

Summarizing Routes

Note –

You can specify a range of addresses to prevent advertising by using the hide option. In this

example, routes in the 36::0/8 range are kept private.

Use the following procedure to configure OSPFv3 support as shown in

Figure 36

:

1.

Configure IPv6 interfaces for each link which will be attached to OSPFv3 areas.

This is equivalent to configuring the IP address and netmask for IPv4 interfaces.
