Drum unit
2. Clean the primary corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding the tab from right to left
several times.
3. Return the tab to the home position (▲ mark position) before reinstalling the drum unit.
CAUTION
If you do not position the tab at the home position, printed pages may have vertical
stripes.
4. Install the drum unit into the machine.
See the section “REPLACING THE DRUM UNIT” on page 12-5.
5. Close the top cover.
6. Plug in the power cord and turn on the power switch.

1. Turn off the power switch and unplug the machine from the AC outlet.
2. Open the top cover.
3. Remove the drum unit assembly. To remove the drum unit, please refer to the previous section
(See page 12-5.)
NOTE: Remove the drum unit and toner cartridge. Leave the toner cartridge installed in the
drum unit.
