7.9.7 Lifting Roll Drive Belt
The two lifting roll drive belts are located inside
the drive compartment at the right hand side of
the header. Belt tension is set at the factory and
does not require adjustment. Replace the belts
if they are slipping.
7.9.7.1 Replacement
DANGER
Stop engine and remove key from ignition
before leaving operator's seat for any
reason. A child or even a pet could engage
an idling machine.
a. Raise header fully, shut off engine and remove
key.
b. Engage lift cylinder lock-out valves.
c. Open RH drive shield.
d. Remove five bolts (A) and nuts and remove rear
shield (B).
e. Insert the end of a ½ inch drive socket wrench in
the square hole on the idler arm (C).
f. Rotate idler arm until belts (D) are loose.
g. Insert a bolt in hole (E) to hold idler.
h. Remove belts (D).
NOTE
Belts must be replaced in pairs.
NOTE
Check alignment of pulleys.
i. Install belts (D) on pulleys ensuring they are in
the pulley grooves.
j. Rotate idler arm (C) so that bolt in (E) can be
removed.
k. Release tension on spring and remove wrench.
l. Re-install rear shield (B) with bolts (A) and nuts.
m. Close drive shield.
