With all GEN3 base systems, the Boost connector location “A” is used to enable two (2) functions.
1.
The internal timer, referred to as the
“Timer Enable”
. No matter how the GEN3 system is configured,
or what options the system has, Pin A of the Boost connector will always act as the internal timer trigger
wire (used for boost and traction control, and other optional features). The timer enable wire (connector
location “A”) must have 12V applied to it at the exact moment the system is configured to start a
timing sequence, like boost or traction control. Initiating both the timing sequence (Timer Enable) and
internal data logger (DAI trigger) can be accomplished by inverting the 12V signal from the brake switch
or trans-brake as shown in the diagram above.
