FUNCTION 38: IBM COMMUNICATION FEATURE

This function is used to enable query reply.

SYNTAX:

NOTES:

1. This function is only read at power-on.

2. The functions should not be set during normal operation.

3. Once programmed, the new settings should be stored with the ESC X1 function, the unit

switched off for approx. 10 seconds and then on again. The unit will only read the new values
at power on.

4. When EAB support is enabled, PCIA byte 0C has bit 0 and 1 set to 1.

When EAB support is disabled, PCIA byte 0C has bit 0 and 1 set to 0.
This can be found in an on-line dump.

5. When Query Reply is enabled, PCIA byte 0A has bit 0,3,6 and 7 set to 1 and PCIA byte 0E

has bit 1,2 and 3 set to 1.

When Query Reply is disabled, PCIA byte 0A and byte 0C have all bits set to 0. This can be
found in an on-line hex dump.

6. The options 2 and 3 can for remote connections speed up printing.

disables query reply and enables EAB.



FUNCTION 39: SUPPRESS EMPTY FORMS

This function is used to select suppression of empty forms in simplex mode only.

SYNTAX: %Y39,%
