4.3.1.1.1 New Connection - PPPoE Connection Setup
PPPoE: When PPPoE Mode is selected, the following screen will pop-up. Point-to-Point Protocol ( PPP ) is a
method of establishing a network connection between network hosts. PPPoE, also known as RFC 2516,
adapts PPP to work over Ethernet for ADSL connections. PPPoE provides a mechanism for authenticating
users by providing User Name and Password fields and it is a connection type provided by many ISP or
Telecom.
Name: Enter the PPPoE connection name. The name must be unique and must not contain
spaces and must not begin with a number.
Type: Connection Type : PPPoE.
Sharing: Select “Disable”, “Enable” or “VLAN” sharing. Default setting is “Disable”. The VLAN
needs to be selected to create VLAN.
Options: Click to enable “NAT” and/or “Firewall” functionality. Default is “Enable”.
VLAN ID: If “VLAN” is selected, manually enter the “VLAN ID” and select “Priority Bits” from
the drop down manual.
Priority Bits: Priority is given to a VLAN connection from 0-7, 0 being the highest priority.
PPP Settings:

Username: Your ISP Account ID. Check your ISP for details.
