YJ or TJ TAILGATE HINGE DELETE PLATES
The Poison Spyder TJ or YJ Tailgate Hinge
Delete Plates are designed to fit on Jeeps already
equipped with Poison Spyder Crusher Corners.
If the tailgate has been removed, converted to
drop-down, or replaced with a Poison Spyder
TrailGate, these plates fill the cutouts in the
passenger side Crusher Corner or Trail Corner
that are left empty once the tailgate hinges are
removed. They are easy to install with the right
tools and good mechanical abilities. If you are
not confident in your mechanical skills, please
seek the help of a professional to perform the
installation. Please read through these notes
before proceeding with installation.

INSTALLATION NOTES
•
Park the Jeep on a flat, level surface and set
the parking brake before beginning. Wear eye
protection if any drilling, grinding or sanding is
to be done.
•
The hardware provided will attach the
plates into the stock tailgate hinge mounting
holes. The holes for the lower plate have a
captured nut-plate to thread into. You will use
the provided flat washers and lock nuts on the
upper plate.
•
On TJ’s, the slightly larger plate is the lower
plate.
•
The plates are made of 6061-T6 aluminum.
They will not rust but may oxidize over time,
and will do so faster in salty conditions
(seaside, or in areas where roads are salted
during winter). For this reason we recommend
painting or powder coating them.
•
Test-fit prior to applying paint or powder
coat, in case any minor edge trimming or
sanding is needed for proper fitment.
•
Note that these plates are designed to fit
within the hinge cut-outs of Poison Spyder
Crusher Corners or Trail Corners. While there
is some lee-way afforded by the captured,
floating nut plate for the lower plate (and the
through-holes for the upper plate may be
elongated as necessary), the plates may prove
difficult to install in cases where the previous
Crusher Corners or Trail Corners installation
was significantly misaligned. In these cases,
it may be necessary to sand or trim the edge
of either the plate or the adjacent edge on the
corner, although this may result in a gap at the
opposite edge.
