1.1 Outline
The MAGNIA Software Access Point enables Toshiba’s Intel Architecture servers to work as a wireless LAN
access point.
The basic functions of this product are as follows:
Communication between a wireless LAN network and wired LAN network
This function enables a wireless or wired LAN PC to be connected to the resources in a wired or wireless LAN
network via an access point.
Enhanced security by encryption (WEP)
Using the WEP function can enhance network security.
Access restraint of wireless LAN station
Registering the MAC address of each applicable station can restrict station access.
Access Point Configuration Utility (remote)
The Magnia server access point settings can be configured from a remote PC..
802.1X Function function from V2.0
In conjunction with a RADIUS server, the 802.1x function can restrict individual wireless LAN stations from
accessing the network via authentication. Also, the WEP key can be changed periodically and distributed to the
stations. (WEP key distribution is disabled depending on the authentication method used.)
