Preparations for Using APRS 02
MY CALLSIGN
Select Menu 600 (APRS - BASIC SETTINGS - MY CALLSIGN) and configure your own callsign.
Example:
Register the callsign W6DJY‑9. Refer to Fig. 2‑4 Menu 600 (MY CALLSIGN).

SSID (Secondary Station IDentifiers) can be added to the end of your callsign (for example, W6DJY will become
W6DJY–9). SSIDs can range from “None, – 1” to “– 15”, so that each callsign can have up to 16 settings.

BEACON TYPE
Select Menu 600 (APRS - BASIC SETTINGS - BEACON TYPE) and configure the beacon type. Select APRS format to
send APRS.
Note:
◆ Weather information and messages will be sent by APRS format regardless of beacon type setting.
Example:
Configure the beacon type as APRS. Refer to Fig. 2‑5 Menu 600 (BEACON TYPE).

DATA BAND
Select Menu 601 (APRS – INTERNAL TNC – DATA BAND) and configure the data band.
