TrueCopy for Mainframe program product is required for using the FlashCopy to PPRC Primary
Volume function.
•
FlashCopy to PPRC Primary Volume function can be used by TrueCopy Synchronous for
Mainframe pairs. This function can also be used for TrueCopy Asynchronous for Mainframe
pairs whose status is Suspend.
•
FlashCopy to PPRC Primary Volume function can be used when the differential data of a
TrueCopy for Mainframe pair is stored in units of tracks. This function is usually unusable when
differential data is stored in units of cylinders. See

FlashCopy to PPRC Primary Volume function cannot be used for TrueCopy for Mainframe pairs
registered in consistency groups.

Data that Version 2 copies to TrueCopy for Mainframe M-VOLs are transferred to TrueCopy
for Mainframe R-VOLs asynchronously. TrueCopy for Mainframe displays the progress of this
asynchronous data transfer. Depending on the timing of the Version 2 and TrueCopy for
Mainframe copy operations, a time delay may occur between the Version 2 copy operation
and the TrueCopy for Mainframe copy operation, and the TrueCopy for Mainframe
asynchronous data transfer may progress slowly.
