Maintenance

Introduction

This section provides basic maintenance information for the Avaya P330 switch and
its components. For issues that are not covered in this chapter or in
“Troubleshooting the Installation,” please contact your Avaya representative.

Caution:

Please refer to “Before You Install the P330” before undertaking any of the

procedures detailed in this section.

Replacing the Stacking Sub-module

To replace the X330STK-ML stacking sub-module:
1

Power to the switch may remain on.

2

Loosen the screws to the stacking sub-module by turning the knobs.

3

Take hold of the two knobs (one near each side of the front panel) and pull
gently but firmly towards yourself.

4

Insert the new stacking sub-module gently into the slot, ensuring that the metal
base plate is aligned with the guide rails.
The metal plate—not the PCB of the X330STK-ML— fits onto the guide rails.

5

Press the sub-module in firmly until it is completely inserted into the
Avaya P330.

Caution:

Ensure that the screws on the module are properly aligned with the holes

in the chassis before tightening them.

6

Gently tighten the two screws on the side panel of the stacking module by
turning the screws. Do not use excessive force when tightening the screws.
