Real CPR Help
WARNING!
The Real CPR Help function is not intended for use on patients under 8 years of age.
When used with CPR-D-padz or OneStep CPR electrodes, the Propaq MD unit can provide
rescuers with feedback about the quality of CPR they are delivering to their patients. The way
in which feedback is provided varies with respect to the operational mode and user
configuration, but is derived from compression rate and depth measurements.
When applied according to package instructions, ZOLL CPR-D-padz and OneStep CPR
electrodes provide a chest compression sensor that is located between the rescuer's hands and
the patient's lower sternum. This sensor monitors the rate and depth of chest compressions and
sends this information to the Propaq MD unit for processing and display.
The Propaq MD defibrillator has basic CPR features which include audible prompts,
informational messages, and the CPR Rate Metronome. Advanced CPR features, which are
optional, include the basic CPR features as well as the Real CPR Help Dashboard, See-Thru
CPR (described in Chapter 20), and the CPR Compression Bar Graph. The Real CPR Help
Dashboard provides feedback to the rescuer via CPR rate and depth, the CPR Release Indicator,
the Chest Compression Indicator, and the FULLY RELEASE prompt. This chapter contains both
basic and advanced CPR features.
Real CPR Help is defibrillation-proof Type BF equipment.
