Wiring the amplifier/mixer control connector
There are special instructions for wiring TOA 700 series (page
2-12) and TOA 900 series amplifiers (page 2-14). Connect all
other amplifiers and mixers to the 3.5 mm, 2-pole captive screw
control port on the rear panel of the MLA-VC10 (see figure 2-12).
Ensure that the ground wire connects to the ground terminal
on the amplifer (as discussed in the section "Determining the
Control Voltage" on pages 2-3 to 2-7). The control wire must
connect to the control terminal on the amplifier.

The cable between the MLA-VC10 and the amplifier/
mixer should not be more than 6 feet (1.8 m). Longer
cables can pick up background noise that affects sound
quality.

depends on the Configuration DIP switch
settings, but the maximum power output will
not be reached if the amplifier's control port
voltage measures more than 10 VDC.

In some applications the amplifier's front panel volume
control knob may be disabled when the MLA is attached
to the amplifier's control port. In those cases the volume
can only be controlled by the MLC's volume control or
through Simple Instruction Set (SIS
™
) commands.
