Drying Grain: A Quick Startup Procedure
Once you are familiar with your dryer and the grain handling equipment, you can follow a quick-step
approach to quickly transition from powering on your dryer to drying grain in auto mode.
Before You Begin
• Make sure that all safety shields are securely in place.
• Make sure that the bottom closure panel doors for all plenums and all rear access doors are closed.
• Make sure that all personnel are clear of the grain drying and grain handling equipment.

To begin drying grain:
1. On the control panel, turn off all switches.
2. On the dryer’s main control box, turn on the safety disconnect switch.
3. Open all fuel supply valves except for the automatic shutoff valve.
4. On the control panel, turn on the Power switch, and then click the Software Start button.
5. Turn the Load Auger switch to On.
6. When the dryer is full of grain, turn the Load Auger switch to Auto.
7. Turn on all Fan and Heater switches.
8. Set all burners to 180°F (100°C).
9. Based on the moisture content of the wet grain, run the burners for the drying time indicated in the
startup settings for the respective drying operation.
Tip
If running dry and cool, turn off the bottom heater once the drying time elapses, and run the dryer for
an additional 10 minutes so that the grain can cool.
10.Turn the Unload Auger switch to On, and set the metering roll speed to the setting indicated in the
startup settings for the respective drying operation.
