Part 10: Playing Sounds with a keyboard
Choosing a tuning scale
You can choose a different tuning scale than the Equal tuning for the keyboard .
1.
Press the MIXER button to access the Mixer Menu .
2.
Touch the KEYBOARD Sound & FX button to access the Keyboard Sound
& FX page .
3.
Touch the MAIN (
) button to access the Main page .
4.
Touch the Tuning Scale pop-up menu to choose a tuning scale . In case you
select a User scale, you can touch the Edit command to edit it (see below) .
Scale
Notes
Equal
Equal tuning, the standard scale for modern Western music. It is made of
12 identical semitones.
Pure Major
Major chords in the selected key are perfectly tuned.
Pure Minor
Minor chords in the selected key are perfectly tuned.
Arabic
An Arabic scale, using quarter tones.
Pythagorean
Pythagorean scale, based on the music theories of the great Greek phi-
losopher and mathematician.
Werckmeister
Late Baroque/Classic Age scale. Very suitable for XVIII Century music.
Kirnberger
Harpsichord scale, also very common during the XVIII Century.
Slendro
Scale of the Indonesian Gamelan. The octave is divided in 5 notes (C, D,
F, G, A). The remaining notes are tuned as in the Equal tuning.
