Programming the phone for Voice-activated
dialing
P ro gramming your Samsung PCS Phone for Vo i c e - a c t i va t e d
dialing is easy.The phone provides voice prompts and
s c reen displays to guide you through the re c o rd i n g
p ro c e s s .To pro gram the phone for vo i c e - a c t i vated dialing:
1 . P ress
to display the Main menu .
2 . P ress
for Voice Dial.
3 . P ress
for Record .The phone will prompt you to
s ay the name you want to pro gra m .
4 . Wait for the beep and then say the name. For best
re s u l t s , use names with at least two syllabl e s ,or use both
a fi rst and last name.The phone stores the name as a
“ fi rs t ”s a m p l e , and then prompts you to say the name
ag a i n .
5 . Respond to the prompt by repeating the name after the
beep ex a c t ly as you did the fi rst time.The phone store s
the name as a second sample and then requests the
phone nu m b e r.
6 . Enter the phone number on the key pad.
7 . To store the phone nu m b e r, p ress
. The nu m b e r
you entered display s , along with the notifi c a t i o n
“ R e c o rd e d ” . If the number you entered matches a
n a m e / number alre a dy stored in your Internal Phone
B o o k , then the name also display s .
8 . The screen then re t u rns to the Voice Dial menu .
N o t e : For Vo i c e - a c t i vated dialing in Hands-Free mode, re fe r
to the optional hands-free car kit manu a l .
Voice-activated dialing
Your Samsung PCS Phone fe a t u res Vo i c e - a c t i vated dialing.
When on the Digital PCS Netwo rk , you can call up to 20
s t o red entries by speaking the name into the micro p h o n e .
Using the vo i c e - a c t i vated dialing option re q u i res that yo u
fi rst pro gram the phone to recognize the name of the per-
son you are calling.
Note: Vo i c e - a c t i vated dialing does not wo rk when yo u r
phone is in analog mode.
Tips on recording names
Avoid re c o rding similar names phonetically. If you re c o rd a
similar name to one that is alre a dy stored in a vo i c e - d i a l
m e m o ry, the phone requests another name.
Avoid re c o rding in a noisy place.
Speak cl e a r ly and natura l ly.
The person who will use the phone should re c o rd the
n a m e .The phone does not recognize anyone else’s
vo i c e .
Avoid ve ry long or ve ry short names.Names with two
to fi ve syllables are re c o m m e n d e d .
If a voice dial entry does not pro p e r ly connect, yo u
m ay need to re c o rd the name and number ag a i n .
