Note: Emergency numbers vary by country. Your phone’s
preprogrammed emergency number(s) may not work in all
locations, and sometimes an emergency call cannot be
placed due to network, environmental, or interference
issues.

Using AGPS During an Emergency Call

When you make an emergency call, your phone's
assisted-Global Positioning System (AGPS)
feature can calculate your approximate location
and help emergency service personnel find you.

This feature can work only if the emergency response

center can receive and process location
information. If you are concerned about whether
your local emergency response center can receive
AGPS location information, contact your local
authorities.

For the AGPS feature to work when making

emergency calls, the service must be turned on (see
page 58).

For best results, you should be located where your phone’s
antenna can establish a clear view of the open sky. This
allows your phone to access AGPS satellite signals. Even
under good conditions, it may take 30 seconds or more to
