Winch Hook - Up
16 Installation
10. Disengage the Winch Clutch (C).
Spool out enough line to anchor
the Winch Cable Spring Shackle
(S) to a structural point on the
derrick.
11. Anchor the Winch Cable Spring
Shackle (S) to a structural point
on the derrick. Make sure there
is enough slack in the line to
enable the HawkJaw to move
onto the drill pipe connection.
12. Engage the Winch Clutch (C).
13. Use Winch Off (WOff) to pull
the HawkJaw 3' to 5' ft. away
from the wellbore. This allows
the drill pipe stands to swing
straight from pick-up to
stabbing.
