upgrade version. SiteConfig provides uninstall deployment tasks and install deployment tasks to
indicate the taskflow. SiteConfig can do the uninstall/install in a single deployment session.

1. In the

Software Deployment | Deployment Groups

tree view, select the device or the group of

devices to which you are deploying software.

The corresponding software deployment tasks are displayed in the Tasks list view.

2. For the software you are deploying, select the

Deploy

check box in the row for the uninstall task.

3. Unselect the

Deploy

check box for all other deployment tasks for all other software.

4. For the software you are installing, select the

Deploy

check box in the row for the install task.

NOTE: If there are dependencies, SiteConfig can enforce that some tasks be deployed together.

You can deploy packages for both 32 bit and 64 bit systems because when SiteConfig deploys
software it automatically deploys the 32 bit or 64 bit software appropriate for the target device.
You must install SNFS as a separate cab file.

5. Click the

Start Deployment

button.

Deployment tasks run and software is uninstalled. Progress is reported and next steps are indicated
in both the Status and Details columns. If an error appears regarding prerequisite software, install
the prerequisite files on the control point PC and then repeat this step.

6. When the Status or Details columns indicate next steps, identify the software in the row, then

do one of the following:

Perform manual steps if indicated, such as dismissing a dialog box on the device and/or
restarting the device.

7. Monitor progress as indicated by both the Status and Details column. When finished, the Status

column indicates complete.

Retrying a failed task

Use this procedure to retry a failed deployment task. A failed deployment task is indicated by a red
LED icon in the status column of the deployment task. The details column will display text indicating
the cause of failure.

1. In

Software Deployment | Deployment Groups

, select a Device node, a Deployment Group node,

or the All Deployment Groups node.

The corresponding software deployment tasks are displayed in the Tasks list view.

2. Select a deployment task with a failed status.

3. If you have started a deployment session and it has not completed, right-click the deployment

task and select the

Retry

option.

Click

Yes

in the dialog asking you to confirm the retry operation. The deployment task will

change to a pending state and will start executing the install or uninstall task in the same
deployment session.
