Configuration procedure
Step1
Configure IP addresses and unicast routing
Configure the IP address and subnet mask for each interface as per
. Detailed configuration
steps are omitted.
Configure OSPF for interconnection between the devices in the PIM-SM domain. Ensure the network-layer
interoperation among the devices, and ensure the dynamic update of routing information through a
unicast routing protocol. Detailed configuration steps are omitted.
Step2
8Enable IP multicast routing, and enable PIM-SM and IGMP
# Enable IP multicast routing on Device B, enable PIM-SM on each interface, and enable IGMP on the
host-side interface GigabitEthernet 1/1.
[DeviceB] multicast routing-enable
[DeviceB] interface gigabitethernet1/1
[DeviceB-GigabitEthernet1/1] igmp enable
[DeviceB-GigabitEthernet1/1] pim sm
[DeviceB-GigabitEthernet1/1] quit
[DeviceB] interface gigabitethernet 2/0
[DeviceB-GigabitEthernet2/0] pim sm
[DeviceB-GigabitEthernet2/0] quit
[DeviceB] interface gigabitethernet 3/0
[DeviceB-GigabitEthernet 3/0] pim sm
[DeviceB-GigabitEthernet 3/0] quit
[DeviceB] interface loopback 0
[DeviceB-LoopBack0] pim sm
[DeviceB-LoopBack0] quit
[DeviceB] interface loopback 10
[DeviceB-LoopBack10] pim sm
[DeviceB-LoopBack10] quit
[DeviceB] interface loopback 20
[DeviceB-LoopBack20] pim sm
[DeviceB-LoopBack20] quit
The configuration on Device A, Device C, Device D, and Device E is similar to the configuration on
Device B.
Step3
Configure C-BSRs and C-RPs
# Configure Loopback 10 as a C-BSR and configure Loopback 20 as a C-RP on Device B.
[DeviceB] pim
[DeviceB-pim] c-bsr loopback 10
[DeviceB-pim] c-rp loopback 20
[DeviceB-pim] quit
The configuration on Device D is similar to the configuration on Device B.
Step4
8Configure MSDP peers
