• Device A connects to N1 through GigabitEthernet 1/1, and to other devices in the PIM network
through GigabitEthernet 3/0.
• Device A and Device C connect to N2 through their respective GigabitEthernet 1/1, and to other
devices in the PIM domain through their respective GigabitEthernet 3/0.
• IGMPv2 is required between Device A and N1. IGMPv2 is also required between the other two
devices and N2. Device A acts as the IGMP querier in N2 because it has a lower IP address.

Step1 Configure IP addresses and unicast routing
Configure the IP address and subnet mask of each interface as per Figure 5 . The detailed configuration
steps are omitted here.
Configure the OSPF protocol for interoperation on the PIM network. Ensure the network-layer
interoperation on the PIM network and dynamic update of routing information among the devices
through a unicast routing protocol. The detailed configuration steps are omitted here.
Step2 Enable IP multicast routing, and enable PIM-DM and IGMP
# Enable IP multicast routing on Device A, enable PIM-DM on each interface, and enable IGMP on
GigabitEthernet 1/1.
