Preface
The H3C SR8800 documentation set includes 13 configuration guides, which describe the software
features for the H3C SR8800 10G Core Routers and guide you through the software configuration
procedures. These configuration guides also provide configuration examples to help you apply software
features to different network scenarios.
The High Availability Configuration Guide describes the fundamentals and configuration of various high
availability (HA) technologies provided by the SR8800, which fall into two major categories: fault
detection and fast failover. Fault detection technologies focus on fault detection and diagnosis on the
network, while failover technologies focus on fault recovery.

Braces enclose a set of required syntax choices separated by vertical bars, from which
you select one.

Square brackets enclose a set of optional syntax choices separated by vertical bars, from
which you select one or none.
