Getting Started
SurvCE provides many configuration options for
current and legacy NavCom products. Review
sections File Types and File Management before
getting started.
File Types
SurvCE creates a number of files for supporting a
project in the field. Two primary files are created to
manage each project: coordinate and raw data. The
coordinate file appended with .crd contains the
measured or computed coordinates for the job; the
raw data file appended with .rw5 contains the survey
measurement details.
File Management
The Carlson X-Port utility is an office application used
to convert files and communicate with the data
collector as described in Chapter 4 Data Transfer.
Text files containing coordinates can be converted to
a .crd format and transferred to or from the Nautiz X7.
A geoid file can also be created and transferred to the
data collector.
Start New Job
All device configurations begin with starting a new
job.
1. For this initial operation, connect the Nautiz
X7 controller from its 9-pin serial connector to
the COM 2 port of the SF-3040 GNSS sensor.
Use the supplied 6 ft. LEMO serial cable for
COM 2.
If wireless connectivity is preferred,
