Appendix B - Static Data Collection
This appendix provides steps to:
Collect static observations for post-processing to
compute a static network tie. For example, this
might involve computing a position from CORS
using the NGS OPUS process, and then
submitting the file to the Rinex utility.
Download a static data file after the desired
elapsed collection period.
Collect Static Data
Static data can be computed if there is no established
point information at the desired position or if StarFire
is not available for collecting data. StarPoint™ office
software is available for post-processing.
Set up the Base - Static
1. First, set up the base on the tripod.
2. Create a new project for the base.
Two separate projects are required for
precision positioning (PP) with a post-
processing software: a GPS data file and
a raw file from two separate SD cards.
3. Connect to the base.
4. Select the coordinate system, then initiate raw
GPS data logging to the SD card in the receiver.
Set up the base station coordinate and complete
the radio configuration. Tap
.
5. Disconnect from the base (Instruments settings >
Instrument disconnect). At this point the base
setup is complete.
