Chapter 1 Introduction
The 2.56 and higher (2.56+) release of the Carlson
SurvCE™ application provides updated menu
enhancements based on unique configurations of

positioning and data collection. This manual covers
updates to several SurvCE menus as they relate to
current and legacy NavCom products.
SurvCE is Carlson’s complete data collection system
for Real Time Kinematic (RTK) GNSS positioning and
is typically designed for, but not limited to, use by
land surveyors. SurvCE provides an embedded,
compact, real-time application that runs on Windows
Mobile
®
6.1. This application is installable on a variety
of manufacturer brand handheld devices.
NavCom testing is limited to the
following hardware:
• Carlson Explorer 600+
• Carlson Surveyor+
• Nautiz X7
Implications for NavCom Configurations
Depending upon the NavCom base/receiver model
selected, SurvCE Release 2.56+ menu options may
vary. Refer to the section Special Configuration
Options and specific steps for configuration in Getting
Started for selective menu options for settings
specific to NavCom products, NTRIP Internet data
collection, etc. Different NavCom product selections
in a menu initiate different protocols.
