Installing and Configuring the HPI-B Daemon
This section describes how to install and configure the HPI-B daemon.
2.2.1
Installing the HPI-B Daemon
The HPI-B daemon is part of the ATCA-M100/MF105/SAM1410 Linux root file system and is,
together with the root file system, preinstalled on the ATCA-M100/MF105/SAM1410.
If you want to update the ATCA-M100/MF105/SAM1410 software, and thereby update the
HPI-B daemon software, you can use the Firmware Update Management Instrument (FUMI),
which is one of the new features of HPI-B. Alternatively, you can upgrade the ATCA-
M100/MF105/SAM1410 software manually. The respective procedure is described in the
ATCA-M100 Reference Guide, ATCA-MF105 Installation and Use and SAM1410 Installation and Use
Note that the Linux distribution used on the ATCA-M100/MF105/SAM1410 does not support
the RPM format. For that reason the ATCA-M100/MF105/SAM1410 software is distributed as
TAR file. The TAR file contains metadata which the ATCA-M100/MF105/SAM1410 software
interprets and uses to validate the new image.
The following table lists all files/directories on the ATCA-M100/MF105/SAM1410 which are
related to the HPI-B daemon.
