CONTROLLING WK1 ORIENTAL FROM A MIDI ACCORDION
Connect the accordion MIDI OUT port to WK1 Or MIDI IN socket with a standard
Midi cable. To drive WK1 Or from your accordion, proceed as follows:
1. Set MIDI LOCK to ON (as explained in the MIDI/GENERAL chapter).
2. Set WK1 CHORD channel (as explained in the MIDI/GENERAL chapter)
to the accordion CHORD channel, or to the channel engaged by your
accordion to transmit chords ( midi accordions usually engage Ch.2).
3. Set WK1 Or tracks to the midi channels, using the table shown below.
4. Set COMMON channel to OFF.
5. Make sure that WK1 Or is set to ONE FINGER mode (refer to the
ARRANGE MODE instructions).
6. Extend the SPLIT point to the maximum setting allowed for the chords
(refer to the SPLIT chapter).
Note: If you wish to listen to WK1 Or sounds together with the melody
coming from your accordion, set the UPPER 1 sections (or UPPER1 and
UPPER 2 together) to the same midi channel that the accordion engages
for the right hand, or melody section (midi Accordions usually engage Ch.1
and/or Ch. 4).
You can store the setting you have obtained to one or more of the 63
Performances available. The entire set of Performances can be saved to the
Floppy Disk.
The MIDI channels in WK1 Or keyboard sections, must correspond to the
channels in the expander sections, (alternatively, set the expander
sections so that they correspond to WK1 Or sections).
4. Press the PAGE key to switch to MIDI CHANNEL mode and to the
