The IP reassembly time-out. This field
sets the time when IP reassembly gives
up reassembling a packet.

By default the IP reassembly time-out is
10 seconds. The time-out can be
modified to improve performance in
extreme network conditions. On
extremely slow networks this may be
increased to give reassembly a better
chance to reassemble before the time-
out occurs.

ARPRFTMO

1 to 720
(seconds)

ARP cache time-out. On slow networks,
the ARP cache time-out can be
increased from the default of 1minute.

Increasing the time-out too much can
cause an excessively large ARP cache,
thereby reducing the network
performance.
