TEL/FAX mode

Use this mode when you wish to receive voice caiis with rings, but do not want to hear the unit ring when
faxes are received.
When a caii is received, the unit wiii work as foiiows:
A caii is received.

The unit wiii automaticaily answer the iine without ringing.
(At this point, a teiephone fee wiii be charged to the caiier.)
• If a TEL/FAX greeting message is recorded (see page 47), it wiii be piayed to the caiier.
if extension teiephones are connected, oniy they wiii ring before the caii is answered. ^

The unit wiii now distinguish between a voice and fax caii by detecting the caiiing tone.

The unit wiii receive a document.
Silent ring fax recognition system
The unit will start to ring. ^
•While ringing, the unit will emit a
different ring-back-tone to the calling
party.

Answer the call using the speakerphone
or the handset.
• If you do not answer the call by a
preset number of rings, the facsimile
unit will switch to the fax.

Note:
•Some fax messages that are transmitted manually may not send a calling tone. These calls must be received
manually.
