Cleaning the inside of the unit
Cleaning the document feeder unit.
If misfeeding occurs frequentiy or dirty patterns or black bands appear on a copied or transmitted document,
clean the document feeder rollers, sub roller, rubber flap, white plate and glass.

Disconnect the power cord and the telephone line
cord.
Slide the front cover open lever forward to unlock
the front cover and lift open.
Clean the document feeder rollers, sub roller and
rubber flap with a cloth moistened with isopropyi
rubbing alcohoi, and let dry thoroughly.
Clean the white plate and glass with a soft dry
doth..
Close the front cover by gently pressing down on
both ends.
Connect the power cord and the telephone line
cord.

Caution:
• Do not use paper products (such as paper towels
or tissues) to clean the inside of the unit.

If dirty patterns or black bands appear on a copied or received document, clean the thermal head.

Disconnect the power cord and the telephone line
cord.
Slide the front cover open lever forward to unlock
the front cover and lift open.
Clean the thermal head with a cloth moistened with
isopropyl rubbing alcohol, and let dry thoroughly.
Close the front cover by gently pressing down on
both ends.
Connect the power cord and the telephone line
cord.
Caution:
•To prevent a malfunction due to static electricity,
do not use a dry cloth and do not touch the
thermal head directly with your finger.
Caution
Do not push on the black cover.
