Q Turning DEMO off
A demonstration of the display is shown if you have not set the
clock. You can reduce the power consumed in standby mode
by turning it off.
Press
and
hold
[-DISPLAY/-DEMO]
until “NO DEMO” is displayed.
Each time you press the button:
NO DEMO (off)«-*DEMO (on)
Setting the time
For U.S.A. and Canada; 12-hour clock
For others: 24-hour clock
The example shows how to set the 12-hour clock for 4:25 p.m.

Press [POWER c!)/l] to turn the unit on.
Press [CLOCK/TIMER] to display
“CLOCK”.
Each time you press the button:
CLOCK^©PLAY->©REC->Original display
(Within 5 seconds or so)

set the time.
The time display can be changed in one minute units by
tapping the buttons, and quickly by holding down the buttons.
Press [CLOCK/TIMER].
The time is set and the original display is restored.
Displaying the clock
Press [CLOCKATIMER] to display “CLOCK".
The clock is shown for about 5 seconds then the previous display is
restored.
Reset the clock regularly to maintain accuracy.
I Auto power-off
Remote control only
When disc or tape is selected as the source
To save power, the unit turns off if it is left unused for 10 minutes.
This function does not work if the source is tuner or AUX or if a disc
menu is being displayed.

Press [SELECTOR] to select “DVD/
CD” or “TAPE”.

Press [SHIFT] -I- [AUTO OFF].
“AUTO OFP is displayed.
The setting is maintained even if the unit is turned off.
If you select tuner or AUX as the source, “AUTO OFF" goes out. It
comes on again when you select disc or tape.
To cancel
Press [SHIFT] -f [AUTO OFF] again.
