Database Error: AERO
Data Not Useable - This message appears if the aeronautical database
fails an internal test when the KLN 94 is turned on.
Database Error: LAND
Data Not Useable - This message appears if the land database fails an
internal test when the KLN 94 is turned on
Enable Turn Anticipation For GPS Approach - This message is dis-
played if an approach has been loaded into FPL 0, the aircraft is within 30
NM of the approach airport, AND turn anticipation has been disabled on
the SET 10 page. For proper approach operation, enable turn anticipation
on the SET 10 page per section 4.2.2.
GEN RS-232 Data In
Error — This message appears when an error is detected in the received
RS-232 data such as from a fuel management or air data system.
GPS Course is XXX° — This message is displayed to notify the user that
the GPS desired track (DTK) has changed. This message will only be dis-
played when the KLN 94 is not “reading” selected course from an external
HSI or CDI. When the KLN 94 is in Leg mode, this message occurs if the
course change is greater than 5°.
If Required Select OBS — This message appears when the aircraft is 4
nautical miles from a waypoint which could be used as the basis for either
a procedure turn or a holding pattern and the KLN 94 is in the LEG mode.
Select the OBS mode when flying procedure turns or holding patterns.
This message is advisory only. If no procedure turn is required then no
action is required.

Protected Area— The aircraft’s flight path may extend beyond the pro-
tected airspace for the procedure turn if the aircraft’s present ground
speed is maintained. It is always the pilot’s responsibility to stay within the
airspace specified on the instrument approach chart for the procedure
turn.

[responsible ATC facility] — (Inside Special Use Airspace) This message
appears when the aircraft is inside special use airspace (SUA). See sec-
tion 3.13.
