Maintaining Your Tabie Saw

Maintenance

WARNING: For your own safety, turn switch “OFF”
and remove plug from power source outlet before
maintaining or lubricating your saw.
•
D o not allow saw dust to accum ulate inside the saw.
Frequently
blow
out
any
dust
that
m ay
accum ulate
inside the saw cabinet and the m otor
• C lean your cutting tools w ith a gum and pitch rem over
• The cord and the tool should be w iped w ith a dry clean
cloth to prevent deterioration from oil and grease
® if the pow er cord Is w orn, cut, or dam aged in any w ay,
have it replaced im m ediately
If disassem bly of the m otor is necessary, it should be
returned to your nearest Sears retail or m ain order store
in order to prevent voiding the guarantee,
NOTE:
The speed ot this m otor cannot be regulated or
changed.
Every effort should be m ade to prevent foreign m aterial
from entering the m otor. W hen operated under conditions
likely to perm it accum ulations of dust, dirt, or w aste within
the m otor, a visual inspection should be m ade at frequent
intervals. A ccum ulations of dry dust can be blown out
succès sfuiiy.
NOTE;
M otors used on w oodw orking tools are particu
larly
susceptible
to
the
accum ulation
of
sawdust
and
w ood chips and should be blow n out or "vacuum ed” fre
quently to prevent interference with norm al m otor ventila
tion
Anti-Kickback Pawls
M ake
sure
the
teeth
of
the
anti-kickback
paw ls
are
alw ays sharp. To sharpen:
1 R em ove blade guard
2 R otate paw l tow ard rear of spreader so that teeth are
above lop of spreader.
3 H old spreader w ith felt hand and place pawl over cor
ner of w orkbench as show n
4 U sing a sm all round tiie {sm ooth cut) sharpen the
teeth.
