Bevel Ripping Narrow Work
W hen bevel ripping m aterial 6” or narrow er, Use fence on
the right side of the blade only. This w ill provide m ore
space betw een the fence and the saw biade for use of a
push stick. If the fence is m ounted to the left, the saw -
blade guard m ay interfere w ith proper use of a push stick
Using Featherboards for Thru-Sawing
Featherboards are not em ployed for thru-saw ing opera
tions w hen using the m iter gauge
Featherboards are used to keep the w ork in contact w ith
the fence and fable as show n, and to help stop kick-

Add a 7-1/2” high fat facing board to the fence, the full
length of the fence.
M ount featherboards to facing board and table as shown,
so that leading edges of featherboards w ill support w ork
piece
Featherboard
WARNING: Make sure the featherboard against the
edge presses only on the uncut portion |in front of
the blade). It might otherwise pinch the blade in
the kerf and cause a kickback.
